Torque Transmission supplies Hi-Speed Checkweigher Co., Inc., an Ithaca, N.Y.-based manufacturer of food handling and custom checkweighing equipment, with 20 different custom [XL reinforced nylon pulleys](https://www.torquetrans.com/xl-timing-pulley-1-5-pitch) with stainless steel hubs. 

The company’s general design requirements are for custom pulleys that are small, corrosion-free, capable of damping vibration, and fast operating.

Hi-Speed Checkweigher produces a variety of machines on the same production lines, and due to varying order schedules, is unable to forecast requirements long-range. The resulting component demand is for small quantities of pulleys featuring various tooth sizes on an intermittent basis – all on extremely short notice.

By studying the equipment manufacturer’s purchase history, Torque Transmission determined the company’s average annual product usage. 

With pre-agreed stocking levels for quantities as few as 25 on specified [custom pulleys](https://www.torquetrans.com/custom-pulleys), Hi-Speed Checkweigher and we were able to agree on an annual price for all pulleys, based on a customized serviceagreement.

Integral to the agreement was the provision that Torque Transmission will deliver identified custom pulleys in two weeks or less on a fax release program initiated by the customer’s purchasing department.

Satisfied with Torque Transmission’s capability to meet its component demands effectively and efficiently, Hi-Speed Checkweigher continues to renew its contract annually. 

Further, the customer has expressed an intent to double its business with Torque Transmission business that had been going to other vendors.
